This blog is the beginning of a new project.... developing a bible based, traditional family oriented, homeschool enabled family schedule for large families.
Why a new system when there are so many existing approaches out there? Quite simply, we have tried many of the existing approaches, researched even more, and come to the conclusion that none work for us completely. Every system we have tried, whether it be from a book, a computer, or a set of charts and such, has required compromises or adaptations in some element of our family life, child raising, scale, age ranges, or belief system. This is actually an incredibly difficult thing to do! to apply a generic system of "life" to a family is to structure life in a certain way. This cant be done without imposing a set of values or mindsets. We have decided to venture off and make our own... from scratch... and invite you to take part in this journey... in hopes that eventually we will have a system that supports the lifestyle we have chosen.
The first purpose of this blog is to document that foundation. What is the mindset that this system supports, how is it different, and what underlying beliefs and parenting styles does this work best for. As you read through the posts here you will see a picture of our family. This family organizer system is built around that picture. It could be adapted to other family styles, but it is not intended to be a one size fits all. We believe strongly in our family structure and style, and are creating this system to support and organize it, to make life easier while adhering to our foundational beliefs.
So come along our journey. You are invited to read, or even participate by experimenting with our system. We are looking for a small group of families to actually use the system as it matures, to help drive it in the right direction and work the kinks out before official release.
